4-Day Oxford, Cotswolds, Bath & Avebury Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival in London

Upon arriving in London, make your way to the hotel and check in. Spend the rest of the day exploring the charming streets of the city at your leisure.

  2. Day 2

    Oxford & Traditional Cotswold Villages

Your day begins as you make your own way to our meeting spot, navigating the lively streets of London. Before long, the cityscape fades into the serene greenery of the Chiltern Hills as you travel towards the historic university city of Oxford. You'll spend the morning discovering Oxford, renowned for its striking spires and Gothic architecture, and home to the UK's oldest university. You can explore the college courtyards, scale a viewpoint for sweeping views of the skyline, or delve into the Ashmolean Museum's rich collections of art and antiquities.

From there, your journey leads you deeper into the Cotswolds, where charming villages nestle in rolling hills, featuring thatched roofs and bustling local markets. Your first stop is Bibury, resting along the River Coln and famed for its 17th-century stone cottages and scenic lanes. You'll have time to stroll over to the charming Arlington Row before continuing on to Burford — dubbed the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds' — where you can wander its quaint streets and enjoy the local atmosphere.

After soaking in the beauty of these picturesque villages, you'll return to London in the early evening. Please note: Some tours may operate in reverse. On Sundays, all tours run in reverse due to Oxford colleges being closed in the morning.

  3. Day 3

    Bath, Avebury and Lacock Village

Leaving London behind, you travel west as the cityscape and highways give way to the peaceful green hills of the North Wessex Downs National Landscape, towards the village of Avebury. Spend your morning exploring Avebury, a UNESCO World Heritage site over 4,000 years old, home to the largest prehistoric stone circle on Earth. What sets it apart is the village that sits within the circle itself, with houses dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. Take your time strolling through this mysterious landscape.

Then, head deeper into the countryside to reach Lacock, where you'll have time to visit the iconic abbey. Harry Potter fans will recognise the cloisters, famously used as Hogwarts corridors in the films. Discover the charm of this medieval site before continuing on to Bath, your main stop for the day.

Arriving mid-afternoon, take in the city's Georgian beauty or dive into the past with a visit to the Roman Baths. Enjoy free time to explore Bath at your own pace, then head back to London in the early evening.

  4. Day 4

    Departure Day

Following breakfast, your journey comes to an end. Check out of your hotel and depart at your leisure, carrying with you memories of ancient stones, dreaming spires, and the timeless beauty of England's countryside and cities.
