13-Day Highlights of Poland and Baltic Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Krakow

    You arrive in Krakow and transfer to your hotel — an optional airport transfer is available for an extra fee. In the evening you join the welcome meeting with champagne or juice to meet your guide and group.

  2. Day 2

    Krakow

    This morning a guided walking tour takes you through Krakow's Old Town, taking in St. Mary's Church, the Cloth Halls, and Wawel Castle and Cathedral. In the afternoon you can join an optional excursion to the Wieliczka Salt Mine, or an optional dinner of traditional Polish food at Restaurant Hawelka (not included).

  3. Day 3

    Krakow to Warsaw

    In the morning you can join an optional excursion to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Museum, or take some free time to explore Krakow at your own pace (not included, pre-booking required). Mid-morning you transfer to the railway station and take the high-speed train to Warsaw, then check in at your hotel on arrival.

  4. Day 4

    Warsaw

    This morning a guided tour covers Warsaw's reconstructed Old Town, including the Royal Route, the Royal Castle, St John's Cathedral, and the Old Town Market Square with its Barbican. In the afternoon you can join an optional visit to Royal Lazienki Park and the Palace on the Water, or an optional traditional Polish dinner (not included).

  5. Day 5

    Warsaw to Bialystok

    The coach travels through forested Eastern Poland toward Bialystok in the Podlasie region. Along the way you visit Bialowieza National Park and its European Bison Show Reserve for a light nature walk, then check in at your hotel. Later in the afternoon you see Bialystok's Branicki Palace.

  6. Day 6

    Bialystok to Vilnius

    The coach continues toward Vilnius through Lithuanian resort towns, stopping in Kaunas, Lithuania's former capital, to see the Old Town and the Baroque Town Hall. You arrive in Vilnius in the late afternoon and check in at your hotel.

  7. Day 7

    Exploring Vilnius & Optional Trakai Tour

    This morning your guide leads a panoramic tour of Vilnius, followed by a walk through Old Town to see the Cathedral, Gediminas Tower, and the city's historic churches. In the afternoon you can join an optional excursion to Trakai Castle, or an optional traditional Lithuanian dinner (not included).

  8. Day 8

    Vilnius to Riga via Hill of Crosses & Rundale Palace

    After breakfast, the coach departs for Riga, stopping first at the Hill of Crosses, one of Lithuania's most sacred Catholic sites. After crossing into Latvia you take a guided tour of Rundale Palace, the former summer residence of the Duke of Courland, then continue through the rolling hills of Southern Latvia, arriving in Riga in the late afternoon.

  9. Day 9

    Riga

    This morning you walk through Riga's Art Nouveau district and Old Town, taking in Riga Castle, the Dome Cathedral, St. Peter's Church, the medieval guilds, and the Freedom Monument. In the afternoon you can join an optional visit to Jurmala seaside resort, or an optional organ concert at the Dome Cathedral (not included).

  10. Day 10

    Riga

    This morning you can join an optional guided excursion to Gauja National Park and Sigulda to see the castle ruins linked to the legend of the Rose of Turaida (not included). In the afternoon you can join an optional visit to the Ethnographical Open-Air Museum, showing 18th-century country life (not included).

  11. Day 11

    Riga to Tallinn via Parnu

    The coach travels the coastal highway to Parnu, Estonia's summer resort, for a short stop. From there you continue through the forests of North Estonia, arriving in Tallinn in the early afternoon to check in at your hotel.

  12. Day 12

    Explore Tallinn's History

    This morning a guided tour takes you through Tallinn's medieval walls to Toompea Castle, Dome Church, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the Town Hall, and the Great Guild Hall. In the afternoon you can join an optional visit to Kadriorg Park and the KUMU Art Museum, or an optional medieval dinner at a local restaurant (not included).

  13. Day 13

    Departure from Tallinn

    After breakfast, check out of the hotel. An optional transfer to Tallinn Airport is available for an additional fee.
