5-Day Cliffs of Moher, Ring of Kerry & Ireland's South West Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kilbeggan Distillery & Clonmacnoise Abbey

Departing from Dublin, you'll head west through the lush farmland and peat bog landscapes of Kildare and Offaly. Your journey begins with a visit to Kilbeggan Distillery, where you can unwind and savour a glass of their renowned whiskey.

From there, you'll make your way to the River Shannon and the historic site of Clonmacnoise Abbey. With its ancient churches, stone crosses, and distinctive round towers, this remarkable location offers a glimpse into Ireland's rich spiritual heritage.

Later, enjoy some free time for lunch at a cosy pub in a nearby village before continuing on to Galway City, where you'll spend the night. Famous for its lively energy, Galway is home to great restaurants and lively bars.

  2. Day 2

Cliffs of Moher & The Burren

A short drive from Galway City brings you to the Burren, one of Ireland's national treasures. It features early Christian sites, expansive limestone pavements, and uncommon plant life. After discovering the area, you'll journey to Kilfenora, known as the "town of the crosses." Here, you can visit the historic cathedral before enjoying free time for lunch in a nearby village.

Next, make your way to the Cliffs of Moher. Stroll along the breathtaking cliff paths as seabirds glide overhead. Visit the award-winning environmental exhibition to learn about the unique ecosystem. Admission to the Cliffs of Moher is included in your tour price.

The tour then continues south through County Clare, passing its renowned golf course on the way to the lovely Lahinch beach. After a short ferry ride across the Shannon Estuary, continue toward Killarney, where you'll stay for the next three nights. Take your time exploring the town's traditional pubs and live music.

  3. Day 3

    Dingle Peninsula & Slea Head

Today's adventure takes you to the beautiful Dingle Peninsula. Begin at Inch Beach, a wide stretch of sand reaching into the Atlantic. From there, winding roads lead you through the quaint town of Dingle.

Next, continue toward Slea Head, an area steeped in ancient forts and prehistoric landmarks. The stunning views of the Blasket Islands make it an ideal spot for panoramic photography. If the weather's nice, enjoy a gentle walk along the beaches and cliffs to fully take in the surroundings.

Later, return to Dingle's lively harbour and colourful houses, where you can unwind and savour fresh seafood. In the evening, head back to Killarney, with time to enjoy a peaceful stroll through the town's National Park.

  4. Day 4

    Ring of Kerry

Today, you'll journey along the stunning Ring of Kerry, a route through some of Ireland's most breathtaking landscapes. In the morning, you'll drive along roads winding through valleys, towns, and villages, passing the foothills of the Macgillycuddy's Reeks, home to Ireland's tallest mountain, Carrauntoohil. Then, you'll follow the scenic coastal route through Glenbeigh and Kells, heading toward Cahersiveen. Along the way, you can stop at the birthplace of Daniel O'Connell, "The Liberator of Ireland," and see a striking ring fort outside Portmagee.

Pause for lunch in the quaint fishing village of Portmagee (not included), or grab a quick snack before heading to Valentia Island to explore the Skellig Experience, where you'll discover the history of the monks who once inhabited the rocky Skellig Islands.

In the afternoon, stop for photos in Waterville, known as Charlie Chaplin's "home away from home," then take in the expansive views from the top of Coonmakista Pass. Next, visit Derrynane House, the O'Connell family's ancestral home, where you can wander the beautiful gardens, stroll along the beach, or explore the main house. Continuing along the Ring, you'll stop at Moll's Gap and Ladies View, followed by a short walk to the stunning Torc Waterfall before returning to Killarney. (On some tours, days three and four are switched.)

  5. Day 5

Blarney Castle & Rock of Cashel

Travel east through the mountains of West Cork, winding along the Lee Valley until you reach Blarney Castle. Take some time to explore the grounds and try kissing the famous Blarney Stone to receive the "gift of the gab."

Next, head to the delightful port town of Kinsale for lunch (not included). Wander the vibrant streets, unwind by the picturesque harbour, or visit the historic Charles Fort.

The final stop is the iconic Rock of Cashel. This striking collection of medieval buildings stands atop a limestone hill, offering stunning views and a chance to explore before the return to Dublin, arriving in the early evening.

Accommodation
