8-Day Athens, Mykonos and Santorini Tour Itinerary
-
Day 1
Arrival in Athens and Hotel Transfer
Welcome to Greece! The country awaits you with open arms. At the Athens airport, meet with the local driver who will organize your transfer to the hotel. Check in and enjoy the rest of the day.
-
Day 2
Athens City Tour
Today, you'll join our tour escort on a morning exploration tour of Athens, to visit the historic treasures of the city. The excursion will take you through the Panathenaic Stadium, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian's Arch, the Parliament House, the Constitution Square, and the Tombstone of the Unknown Soldier. And also, a stop by the trilogy: the Academy, the Athens University, and the National Library.
Your tour of Athens is incomplete without a visit to the Acropolis, an ancient citadel on a rocky height that contains the ruins of several antiquated buildings of great historic importance. Wrap up your tour with a visit to the spectacular Acropolis Museum — a blend of the modern and ancient civilizations. There is no better place to learn about the age of Greek history, art, and civilization than here. After the expedition ends, you can have the rest of the afternoon to yourself.
-
Day 3
Athens – Mykonos
Endeavor to eat an early breakfast, so that you leave early for the port of Piraeus where a ferry will be arranged to carry you to the island of Mykonos — Greece's most prominent island and the most sophisticated of the Cyclades. On arrival in Mykonos, arrangements will be in place to pick you up and drop you off at your hotel. The rest of the afternoon can be spent at your volition, but we recommend a stroll through Chora, the old port, and Little Venice.
-
Day 4
Mykonos
Free day. Mykonos is a piece of perpetual Cycladic beauty and a winner of nature's lottery. The island, located on a rocky terrain, has plenty to offer — from its signature white and blue cubic houses, the tiny streets designed with pebble-stoned walkways, and the small white chapels that dot the city. Stop by the Mykonos Windmills with their particular cylindrical shape, white color, and straw-colored pointed roofs — a significant Mykonos monument set on a small hill southeast of Chora, adding to the city's aesthetics. Don't forget to take as many pictures as you can when you visit the Paraportiani Church, a great architectural masterpiece located near the entrance to the Mykonos harbor.
-
Day 5
Mykonos – Santorini
Spend the morning at your leisure, but pack your luggage too. Later in the day, you'll join the transfer to the port for onward departure to Santorini. At the island, you'll be chauffeured to your hotel on arrival and the evening will be spent as you deem fit, admiring the glorious views of the city. As part of your pastime, take a stroll through the streets of Fira — the panoramic capital of Santorini, seated on the rim of the Caldera. Spare some time to bask in the scenic sights of the volcano, the ocean, the buildings dipped in white paint, and the blue-domed churches.
-
Day 6
Santorini
Day at leisure. A single day is not enough to experience the enormous beauty of Santorini — to enjoy the spectacular scenery, lie on the black sandy beaches, and bask in the most romantic sunset. We recommend that you partake in the half-day tour (with extra charge) to the tiny volcanic islands of Nea Kameni and Palea Kameni, set in the middle of the Santorini Caldera, and take some time to float in the orange-colored hot springs there. If you are on this tour with a partner, take them out for a romantic dinner at the edge of the Caldera, looking over what might be the most astonishing view in the world.
-
Day 7
Santorini – Athens
In the morning, after you're done packing, you will be driven to the port, where you'll board a ferry boat to Piraeus. Once you arrive at the port of Piraeus, join the ride to your hotel. Make yourself comfortable in your room and retire for the night.
-
Day 8
Departure
Depending on your flight schedule, you will check out of the hotel at the due time and be transferred to Athens airport, where you will join a flight back home. But you won't be leaving alone — you'll be carrying the remarkable memories of Greek historic monuments and elegant cities.
