Day 1
Arrival in Milan
After arriving in Milan, head to your hotel and complete check-in. Use the remainder of the day to stroll through the city's charming streets at your leisure.
-
Day 2
Swiss Alps and St. Moritz with Bernina Red Train
There is no better way to witness the majesty of the Swiss Alps than aboard the legendary Bernina Red Train. Imagine yourself taking in the fairy-tale alpine panorama from carriages with opening windows, breathing the mountain air and immersing fully in nature. Running along a 100-year-old railway — today a UNESCO World Heritage Site — the route climbs from St. Moritz to the Bernina Pass and descends into Italy, while your guide offers an in-depth look at the history of this captivating Swiss region.
Your tour departs at the meeting point in Milan. By air-conditioned coach you'll reach St. Moritz, where you can admire the Alps while sipping renowned Swiss hot chocolate at the country's top chocolate house, stroll around the lake, or browse luxury boutiques. The train leaves St. Moritz, crosses the Engadin Valley, climbs to Bernina Pass (2,253 m) and then descends into Italy, crossing the famous helical stone viaduct at Brusio before finishing in Tirano. Along the way you'll pass wild gorges, icy glaciers, soaring bridges and looping tunnels. At day's end you return to Milan by coach.
-
Day 3
Lake Como and Bellagio
Surrounded by stunning alpine scenery and dotted with charming villages famous for their silk production, Lake Como ranks among Italy's most beloved destinations. From Milan, the bus takes you to Lake Como, where the tour begins in Tremezzina — a beautiful and serene spot perfect for relaxing amid elegant villas, quaint streets, and breathtaking views.
Enjoy a 1-hour boat cruise across the lake, marvelling at lakeside villas and spotting luxury hotels nestled in lush gardens, as well as iconic landmarks like Villa Balbianello and Villa Carlotta. Thanks to the mild Mediterranean climate, exotic and rare plants flourish here throughout the year. The boat stops in Bellagio, one of the lake's most celebrated towns — wander its steep cobbled streets, pause for coffee or gelato in lively cafés, and enjoy some free time to explore. The cruise continues to Cadenabbia before reaching Como, where you can discover the charming historic centre and browse local boutiques before returning to Milan.
-
Day 4
Verona and Sirmione
Travel from Milan to Verona for a guided tour inspired by Shakespeare's timeless Romeo & Juliet. See the legendary Capulet balcony where Romeo is said to have called to Juliet. While Verona is renowned for this tale, the city has much more to offer: explore the 1st-century Roman amphitheatre, famous for its summer open-air operas, as well as Piazza Mercato and other architectural gems throughout the historic centre. A lunch break gives you free time to explore on your own — shop, stroll, or relax in one of Verona's charming cafés.
Later, continue to Sirmione, a historic fortified village perched at the tip of a 4 km peninsula extending into Lake Garda, offering spectacular views of both the eastern and western shores. Return to Milan in the evening.
-
Day 5
Cinque Terre with Cruise
Discover the beauty of Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where colourful cliffside villages overlook the shimmering sea. Depart from Milan and arrive in Manarola, one of the most striking villages of the five. Enjoy free time to explore its narrow alleys and taste local specialties.
Continue by train to Monterosso al Mare, the largest village in Cinque Terre, known for its ancient fortifications. With no car traffic, it preserves the charm of a true fishing village on the Italian Riviera. Stroll through its lively streets or unwind by the waterfront, where cafés and eateries offer a relaxed, authentic vibe. End the day with a 90-minute boat cruise along the coast, taking in the unforgettable views of the five villages from the sea. Afterwards, your coach will be waiting to take you back to Milan.
