3-Day Dingle, Killarney & Wild Atlantic Way Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Glendalough and the Wicklow Mountains

We begin our journey south from Dublin, traveling through the Wicklow Mountains to Glendalough. Explore the serene lakes, uncover history at the visitor centre, and enjoy the quiet beauty of the ancient monastic ruins.

Next, we head west to Kilcullen, a lovely market town, where we stop for free time for lunch (not included). Our route then takes us to the Rock of Dunamase, where castle ruins overlook the rolling plains of County Laois.

We continue through the peat bogs to Adare, known as 'Ireland's Prettiest Village,' with its charming thatched cottages and the remains of a 15th-century Franciscan Monastery. Finally, we reach County Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula, a vibrant hub of Irish culture and language. We settle into Dingle for a two-night stay.

  2. Day 2

    Wild Atlantic Way

Today, we're exploring the heart of the Gaeltacht, where Irish is the local language. The rich culture, history, and heritage of the Dingle Peninsula are fiercely protected and shared with visitors.

Your driver-guide will show you key sights like Conor Pass, Tóchar Maothaithe, Beehive Huts, Slea Head, and Gallarus Oratory — each offering a window into the ancient and living traditions of this extraordinary peninsula.

After a day of stunning landscapes and sweeping Atlantic views, you'll spend the night in Dingle, with time to explore the town's lively harbour, colourful pubs, and renowned fresh seafood.

  3. Day 3

Rock of Cashel & Killarney National Park

Before saying goodbye to the Dingle Peninsula, we'll pause for a quick visit to Inch Beach. This long stretch of sand faces the Kerry mountains and Killarney National Park — our next destination. From there, we'll pass by scenic lakes and take a short walk to Torc Waterfall, a 20-metre-high cascade that flows down from the nearby hills.

Free time for lunch (not included) in Killarney, a colourful and welcoming town full of dining options. Open year-round, it's a favourite stop for anyone exploring County Kerry.

In the afternoon, we'll head to the Rock of Cashel, a striking cluster of medieval ruins set on a limestone hill. You'll have free time to wander through the Round Tower, High Cross, and Gothic Cathedral. We'll then enjoy a relaxed drive back to Dublin, arriving by early evening.

What's Included

Accommodation
  • 2 nights en-suite accommodation with breakfast
  • What should I expect from a B&B?
B&Bs are traditionally small family owned and run properties offering a handful of guest rooms. They are usually residential properties, so they tend to be located on the outskirts of towns and you should be prepared for a 20–30 minute walk to local facilities like pubs and restaurants.
It's unusual for a B&B to offer any additional services like concierge, porterage, evening meals or room-service. Wi-fi is usually, but not always available and it's worth bearing in mind that access can be unreliable in more remote locations.
If you have difficulty with stairs, please request a ground-floor room (subject to availability, upon request only) as lifts will not be available in this type of property.
