5-Day Highlights of Budapest & Danube Bend Tour Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Welcome to Budapest

Arrive in Budapest and check in to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to walk around and get a feel for the city at your own pace.

  2. Day 2

Budapest City Tour with Parliament Visit

A bilingual guide leads the tour starting in the Castle District, where you take in panoramic views of the city. You'll cross Elizabeth and Margaret Bridges, visit Europe's largest Synagogue, then head to City Park passing the thermal spa and Zoo before stopping at Heroes' Square. The tour continues down Andrássy Avenue past the Opera House and St. Stephen's Basilica, finishing with a 1-hour guided visit inside the Parliament Building — ornate session room, grand staircase, vaulted hall, and the cupola with the Crown Jewels. Please note the Parliament reserves the right to cancel or modify the interior visit without prior notice.

  3. Day 3

Sisi Tour & Royal Palace of Gödöllő

Transport departs to the Royal Palace of Gödöllő, about 30 minutes from Budapest. Your guide takes you through the palace — Europe's second-largest Baroque structure — covering the restored halls, palace museum, and 26-hectare English garden, with stories about Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth (Sisi), including the palace's hidden doors and secret rooms. The tour ends with a coffee break on the grounds before returning to Budapest.

  4. Day 4

Danube Bend – Visegrád, Esztergom & Szentendre

Transport departs for a full-day Danube Bend tour. First stop is Visegrád, where you explore the area around the 750-year-old Royal Residence and take in the Danube valley views (Royal Residence entry is not included). Next, you head to Esztergom to visit Hungary's largest cathedral — the center of the Catholic Church and burial place of cardinals including József Mindszenty — with views across the river to Slovakia. On the way back, you stop in the artist village of Szentendre to walk its narrow baroque streets, climb to the lookout for panoramic Danube views, and experience this town where the river meets the Pilis Mountains.

  5. Day 5

    Budapest Departure Day

Breakfast at the hotel, then check out. This marks the end of tour services.
